Challenges Towards Sustainable Future of Electric Vehicle
摘要
Switching to Electric Vehicles (EVs) is one of the key directions that is aimed to achieve the goal of sustainable environment through addressing the issue of the climate change. Like every transition to transformation challenges are bound to come. The most challenging issue is the distraction of the potential buyer due to limited range and prolonged charging times associated with many of the existing EV models. In addition, there exist deep sustainability concerns that are related to the environmental ramifications of battery production and disposal. Further, non-accessibility of charging infrastructure of EVs, particularly in rural and underserved communities’ areas is another critical drag phenomenon towards the forward transitioning of EVs. The financial obstacle in moving forward towards the acceptance of EVs by public warrants economical support by the government in the form of subsidies and incentives. The aim of this research paper is to investigate the mounting challenges, empowerment of the need for technological progress, country’s comprehensive EV policy and its initiatives push, and enhanced public awareness and education towards cultivation of a sustainable future EV ecosystem. Overcoming these barriers is one of the critical and crucial moves to pave a way of smooth road for maximizing the role of EVs in enhancing environmental sustainability and decreasing reliance on fossil fuels.
