This study established a method for rapid and accurate determination of epichlorohydrin in drinking water, source water, and drainage using purge-and-trap gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (P&T-GC/MS). The method demonstrated excellent linearity (R = 0.9992 over 0.5–200 μg/L), a low detection limit of 0.11 μg/L with 5 mL samples, and satisfactory recovery rates (65.2–118%) and relative standard deviations (4.8–8.2%) across water types, eliminating the need for complex pre-treatment and meeting all detection requirements.
