The education system is one of the most important institutions of today’s society because it determines the development of a country. Higher education is considered a leading factor in social, political, and economic progress. In this regard, the work examines ways of modernizing the educational process by digitalization and improving skills in the use of information and communication technologies. Digital educational resources have established themselves as effective tools accompanying traditional learning. The research aims to demonstrate the interactive capabilities of the digital resource center as an auxiliary material in conditions of difficult interaction between the teacher and students. The work used a computer modeling method that makes it possible to reproduce elements of traditional learning using interactive digital learning tools. Moreover, the authors applied diagnostic methods as criteria for assessing the adequacy of means of monitoring the progress of an educational application. The research revealed that the pandemic created an urgent need for computers and other remote communication tools. Under these circumstances, the importance of digital communication centers significantly increased, shifting them from auxiliary tools to the primary means of interaction between students and their study materials. Digital learning centers facilitate the development of independent work skills, and the specific type used in this study—educational applications—helps bridge the digital divide.
