Infrastructure Approach to Ensuring Sustainable Development of Transport and Logistics Systems Through Digital Technologies
摘要
The research explores the significance of infrastructure, including digital technologies, for the sustainable development of transport and logistics systems. Based on the experience of the top 20 countries with the most sustainable transport and logistics systems in 2023, the author developed a model to analyze the impact of structural elements of transport infrastructure on the resilience of logistics systems. Using this model, the author concludes that infrastructure, particularly digital technologies, is critically important for the sustainable development of transport and logistics systems amid the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In light of this conclusion, the author proposed a new “Infrastructure Approach” to ensure the sustainable development of transport and logistics systems based on digital technologies. This approach offers new tools for managing transport logistics, especially suited to the conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution: fostering economic openness for globalization, strengthening the marketing power of national brands, and increasing the prevalence and engagement with digital technologies in companies. The infrastructure approach will enable countries with less favorable geographic locations to integrate into global trade routes. It will also allow countries with intergovernmental trade agreements to overcome the moral and physical obsolescence of their transport and logistics systems, thereby stimulating the flow of goods and production factors across their territories. Countries adopting the infrastructure approach will be positioned to achieve sustainable development of their transport and logistics systems in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
