The supraorbital branch of the ophthalmic division, the infraorbital branch of the maxillary division, and the mental branch of the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve are the main neural structures that compose the cutaneous pain sensation of the face. There are many diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving the blockage of these nerves in patients presenting with facial pain. Ultrasonography shows the relevant foramens and the neurovascular structures arising from them. It is important to be able to advance the needle enough to block the nerve while staying away from structures that may cause complications. Also, seeing the spread of the injected solution with ultrasound guidance is very important.
