This chapter provides a review of the research and practice literature for artificial intelligence (AI) and human collective intelligence in urban life in exploring AI-human cross-fertilization. Key elements guiding the exploration include alternative considerations and technological considerations while being attentive to a wide range of challenges and opportunities. Formulation of a conceptual framework to guide explorations of urban life and human collective intelligence in an era of AI is then provided. Employing an exploratory methodological approach, focus is placed on the categories of awareness, creativity, and insights for good in relation to the challenges and opportunities of evolving urbanism. Also incorporated in this chapter is a synthesis of findings in relation to the nine preceding chapters focusing on urban life and AI perspectives, challenges and opportunities, key elements, and conceptual frameworks. The chapter concludes with the identification of limitations, future directions, and insights.
