Wireless Sensors Based User Authenticated Gun Holster System: Device for Future
摘要
User authentication is very important not only in the transmission of data but in hardware also. When user authentication (as a cryptographic goal) is included in the hardware security, it makes sure that only legitimate users can use the particular hardware. Keeping this in mind, in this paper, a unique user authenticated gun holster security system is presented which prevents unauthorized use of revolvers and hence saving people’s life. There is a similar system existing in this category named “Kavach” specifically designed for the security of Indian revolvers (such as Nishank, Mark 3 and Nirbheek) manufactured by Indian Ordnance Factories (IOF) (a government of India undertaking under Ministry of Defence). We show that the proposed system is better than the existing system in various aspects including cost optimization. The proposed system is of high practical utility as it saves people’s life and can be used with any revolver.
