Instead, there is a growing push to focus on the actual, physical world and the importance of real, tangible things. Essentially, this means a significant shift toward realism within the realm of continental philosophy. Günter Figal and Don Ihde belong to a group of thinkers within phenomenological-hermeneutical philosophy who have been reorienting hermeneutic philosophy toward the external origin of that something appearing in experience.
