Piezoelectric Polymer Nanocomposites for Energy Storage and Harvesting Applications

In recent years, a surge has been observed in renewable energy, energy scavenging, and harvesting technologies, which are increasingly attracting significant investments. Piezoelectric ceramics and polymer nanocomposites (PNC) have emerged as preferred materials for developing nanogenerators and energy storage devices, offering advantages over traditional inorganic composites. This chapter sheds light on the importance of piezoelectric materials in applications involving energy harvesting and storage. Specifically, it emphasizes using polyvinylidene fluoride-based nanogenerators in various contexts.
