Ultrasound-guided procedures have become a standard practice in various medical fields due to their precision and effectiveness. When performing ultrasound-guided interventions, maintaining sterility is crucial to prevent infections and ensure patient safety. Ultrasound probes are reusable instruments, and we can use different types of covers for our transducer, including the probe or the complete transducer including its cable. We describe in this chapter different protocols for probe and field disinfection and sterility depending in the procedure to be done.
