Comparative Analysis of Traditional, Flipped and Adaptive Learning Approaches in Higher Education

This study evaluates the effectiveness of three distinct learning approaches—traditional, flipped, and adaptive learning-implemented in higher education. The experiment involved 16 students who were enrolled in three separate courses, each designed to utilize one of the three learning approaches. In the traditional learning course, students received in-class lectures and completed assignments independently outside of class. The flipped learning course required students to engage with instructional videos and reading materials at home, while class time was used for interactive activities such as discussions and problem-solving exercises. The adaptive learning course utilized technology to personalize the learning experience, dynamically modifying the difficulty and type of content based on individual student performance. We used the students score results from assessments and exams to compare the effectiveness of these approaches in enhancing academic performance. The findings of this study aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of how each learning approach impacts student performance. These insights will offer practical recommendations for educators seeking to implement effective teaching strategies in higher education, ultimately contributing to the improvement of educational outcomes.
