Nail color changes may occur as a result of chronic diseases, infections, malignancies or drug use. Half-and-half nails that present clinically with proximal white zone and distal brownish sharp demarcation that parallel to the distal or free margin of the nail, could be associated with mostly chronic renal disease, as well as Kawasaki disease, hepatic cirrhosis, Crohn’s disease, zinc deficiency and systemic chemotherapeutics. However, the pathogenesis of this nail finding is not clear. Herein we present a 58 year-old female patient with reddish-brown bands on the distal part of toenails.

摘要
