Two patients presented with linear pink papules on a dorsal digit along with associated nail findings. An 8-year-old male had longitudinal splitting of the left third nail, while a 7-year-old male had longitudinal ridging of the left first nail. Both were diagnosed with lichen striatus with nail involvement. Lichen striatus is a benign dermatologic condition of unknown etiology that mainly affects children. It typically presents with an asymptomatic papular rash in a linear distribution. If the cutaneous eruption is on a digit, there can be associated nail changes. Nail findings include longitudinal ridging or splitting. The cutaneous findings typically self-resolve within 2 years, while the nail findings may take up to 5 years to self-resolve.
