The Sphygmomanometer
摘要
Heart pumps oxygenated blood in arteriesArteries of the human body at regular intervals. Blood flowing through the arteries exert pressure on the walls of these arteries; this pressure is called blood pressure or Bp. The blood pressure may have two values, higher (or systolic) when the heart has just pumped and the lower (diastolic) just before the next cycle of pumping. Both these Bp values are important from the health point of view. The science behind the measuring of the two Bp values is discussed in this chapter.
