We are working on the construction of the detector. The task is very complicated because nothing is standard in the Borexino detector: everything must meet a level of radiopurity that preserves the levels achieved in the scintillator. All materials must be selected on the basis of their radio-purity, many parts are developed by us in collaboration with external companies, the components must be selected on the market and then modified. This means that the construction time of the detector is extended. In addition, due to a minor accident the preparation was stopped for about two and a half years by a local court and we have to suffer the hostility of environmentalists which in some cases manifests itself as a real war.
