Farewell Borexino
摘要
The Borexino experiment, whose preparation began in 1990, concluded in 2021, having achieved far more than its initial objectives. Its success is demonstrated by the great interest it has sparked within the global community of astrophysicists and astroparticle physicists, as well as by the numerous awards it has received. Borexino leaves behind a rich legacy, both in terms of technical advancements—already being used in some ultra-low-energy experiments—and in its groundbreaking scientific measurements and discoveries related to the Sun and stars. But it leaves something even more significant: a testament to the courage required to undertake highly challenging experiments, which, despite their risks, offer the potential for groundbreaking results.
