Gajowski analyzes the significance of Grady’s work as a whole, in addition to his contributions over the course of his scholarly career to presentism as a theoretical and critical approach to analyzing Shakespeare’s texts. The introductory chapter analyzes the significance of Grady’s six monographs, published by Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press, including their crucial role in developing presentism as a theoretical and critical strategy. The chapter concludes by outlining the organizational structure of Shakespeare, Presentism, and the Legacy of Hugh Grady.
