Considerations Toward Increased Treatment Adherence for School-Based Behavior Analysts
摘要
Schooling comprises a significant portion of one’s life during pivotal developmental years, which can affect one’s trajectory into adulthood. This chapter explores strategies for behavior analysts to support individuals with autism during educational activities by considering a tiered model (i.e., addressing system-level needs up to individualized student interventions) and variables that affect treatment adherence in the schools (e.g., stakeholder buy-in, intervention fidelity). Additional considerations such as cultural responsiveness, trauma-informed care, and bolstering student involvement are also discussed.
