Longevity of Treatment Effects for Automatically Maintained Problem Behavior
摘要
When challenging behavior occurs in the absence of, and is not maintained by, socially mediated consequences, it is said to be “automatically maintained” or “automatically reinforced.” In this chapter, the authors describe conceptual underpinnings of automatically maintained challenging behavior and a subtyping framework for automatically maintained challenging behavior. Also discussed are general treatment recommendations for automatically maintained challenging behavior and specific treatment considerations for self-injurious behavior that is maintained by nonsocial reinforcement.
