This book aims to shed light on the domain of spoken language processing, particularly focusing on transcripts of spontaneous conversations. The main goal has been to convey the fundamental distinction between spoken and written language, outlining challenges that spontaneous human conversations pose to the field of NLP, despite recent advancements in this field. By discussing the complexities and nuances of spoken communication, I hope to contribute to the deeper understanding of this multifaceted domain.
