This chapter is devoted to detailed analysis of fundamental human graded precepts of truth, importance, simultaneity and substitutability. Rating scales are presented as verbalized forms for expressing and quantifying graded percepts. The concept of unbiased and biased expression of graded percepts is discussed and negative effects of discretization in decision making are exemplified and critically analyzed.
