Geologically the Nand river basin area is mainly covered by basaltic lava flow of Sahyadri group which is classified into undifferentiated and 18 simple basaltic lava flows. From the geological investigation major area is covered by Deccan traps and plays a very important role in groundwater investigation. Geomorphological data of the study area reveals that the most of the area is plain with pediplain, pediment, and dissected plateau. All the geomorphic units are affecting the hydrogeological setup of the subwatersheds. The morphometric analysis and the calculated compound value of subwatershed SW-02, SW-8, SW-10, SW-11, and SW-12 shows the low priority, SW-04, SW-05, SW-07, SW-09 show medium priority and SW-01, SW-03, SW-06, and SW-13 show high priority.
