The rise of Electric Autonomous Mobile Offices (EAMOs) heralds a new era in work, education, and mobility, challenging traditional paradigms. This study examines the crucial role of Higher Education in equipping the youth, especially Generations Z and Alpha, with skills necessary for EAMO-integrated workplaces. Addressing the skills gap, mental health, and adaptability, it underscores the need for educational reforms aligned with EAMOs’ demands. Our mixed-methods research identifies a disconnect between current educational outcomes and the proficiencies needed for EAMOs. The study highlights the importance of ambidextrous behavior in organizations and the integration of AI technologies in EAMOs for personalized learning and operational efficiency. Findings suggest a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach is essential for future workforce preparation. We discuss practical implications, advocating for Higher Education’s pivotal role in transitioning to EAMO-centric work settings. A collaborative roadmap for educators, policymakers, and industry is proposed to cultivate the requisite competencies. Our conclusions advocate for proactive engagement across sectors to leverage the opportunities presented by EAMOs, highlighting the importance of continuous research and policy dialog in this evolving domain.
