This study seeks to investigate the various aspects of integrating solar energy as a renewable source in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) through the lens of professionals in the renewable energy field. The research explores the economic, environmental, and social dimensions of incorporating solar energy, while assessing its impact on sustainable development and the influence of regulatory policies. Employing a qualitative approach grounded in exploratory and descriptive methods based on an interpretivist research philosophy, and following an inductive approach, the study employs qualitative research techniques, specifically in-depth interviews with fifteen renewable energy sector managers, to draw well-founded conclusions. The interviews revealed key themes such as climate change, sustainability, renewable energy sources, factors influencing solar energy adoption, challenges, limitations, and government initiatives and regulations. The findings highlight the pressing need to address climate change and the potential of solar energy, while emphasizing the need to address challenges such as low tariff rates and limited regulations. The study recommends addressing governance issues, promoting trade openness, collaborating with the private sector, raising awareness, investing in infrastructure, and developing national incentive programs.
