Enhancing Practice Value
摘要
There is a wide scope of nonclinical applications of chronic pain knowledge. There are opportunities to contribute your knowledge toward legal consulting but there many considerations. Understanding the process of litigation is crucial to participating legal consulting. Furthermore, industry consulting is another avenue through which pain physicians can apply their knowledge outside of direct clinical care. However, this can create conflict of interest that can result in avoidable ethical dilemmas. Additionally, research in pain medicine is a continually growing field. Funding for research can be industry funded or non-industry funded. Research can range from basic science to animal models to translational human research. All of these variables in research must be factored to appropriately and ethically design and participate in research.
