Resilient systems are especially critical in a world facing ever-increasing crises, from diseases and financial crises to supply chain disruptions, disasters, and climate change. We refer to these events as corporate sustainability crises threatening the achievement of corporate sustainability-related goals. Corporate sustainability crises include more general issues, such as climate change, that are not directly linked to a specific company, but are relevant to corporate goal achievement, as well as crises that are directly related to specific companies or industries, as perceived by stakeholders. Crisis management relies on resilience, flexibility, and recovery, aided by public–private partnerships (PPPs) and public and private organizations’ combined expertise, resources, and innovation. This chapter addresses PPP's, resilience, crisis management, and the sustainability benefits in emergencies. It also discusses how governments, businesses, and civil society can collaborate to mitigate risks, mobilize resources, and seek solutions.

摘要
