Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has become an important clinical tool in the diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis (CA). Its ability to provide high-resolution functional images and tissue characterization has led to its prominent role on the pathway to amyloid diagnosis or exclusion. In addition to identifying classic features of the pathology, a CMR study can provide important prognostic information. In this chapter, the authors review the utility of CMR and provide a simplified rubric for understanding the relevant features of a CMR study in the diagnosis of CA.

摘要

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has become an important clinical tool in the diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis (CA). Its ability to provide high-resolution functional images and tissue characterization has led to its prominent role on the pathway to amyloid diagnosis or exclusion. In addition to identifying classic features of the pathology, a CMR study can provide important prognostic information. In this chapter, the authors review the utility of CMR and provide a simplified rubric for understanding the relevant features of a CMR study in the diagnosis of CA.
