Metastatic Thyroid Tumor Thermal Ablation
摘要
Thyroid pathologies are extremely common in the world population, with an estimated one-third of individuals over 40 years of age experiencing some form of alteration in the “body gland of balance.” Studies suggest that the risk of cervical recurrence of thyroid carcinoma ranges from approximately 15.4% for early-stage cancers (stage I) to around 66.7% for more advanced cases (stage IV). While surgical resection is still considered the gold standard treatment, the application of thermal ablation in post-thyroidectomy cervical lymph node metastases is increasingly being considered, particularly in specific cases such as patients who have undergone multiple surgical treatments. It may be a viable option to offer patients. Thermal ablation is effective, safe, and fast, does not require general anesthesia, allows for discharge within a few hours, enables an early return to usual activities, and offers excellent cost-effectiveness compared to the overall cost of surgery. Ablation has a growing present and a promising future.
