The fauna of the subfamily Orthopelmatinae Schmiedeknecht, 1910, in the Middle East includes three species in a single genus, Orthopelma Taschenberg: O. brevicorne Morley, 1907; O. mediator (Thunberg, 1822); and O. mukriyana Riedel in Karimi et al., 2024. All three species have been recorded from Iran, while two of them have been recorded from Turkey (O. brevicorne and O. mediator).
