The fauna of the subfamily Ichneumoninae Latreille, 1802, in the Middle East comprises 431 known species and subspecies distributed across 95 genera. Among these, Ichneumon Linnaeus, 1758, and Coelichneumon Thomson, 1893, with 61 and 41 recorded species, respectively, represent the most species-rich genera. Within the Middle Eastern countries, Iran exhibits the highest faunal diversity, with 342 known species within 85 genera more diverse than the others, followed by Turkey (252 species), Israel-Palestine (33 species), Egypt, Syria (9 species each), Cyprus (5 species), Lebanon (4 species), Iraq, and Jordan (one species each).
