The fauna of the subfamily Diplazontinae Viereck, 1918, in the Middle East is comprised of 41 species in 12 genera, of which Diplazon Nees, 1819, and Homotropus Foerster, 1869, with 10 and 9 recorded species, respectively, are the most species-rich genera. Among the Middle Eastern countries, the diplazontine fauna of Iran and Turkey is more diverse than the others (each with 32 species), followed by Israel-Palestine (3 species), Cyprus and Egypt (each with 2 species), and Iraq and the United Arab Emirates (each with 1 species).
