A defining feature of contemporary society is the pervasive integration of technology and digital media into daily life, particularly for entertainment. The proliferation of digital tools has precipitated significant changes in consumption patterns, leading to new phenomena such as binge-watching (BW). BW, characterized by the consecutive viewing of multiple series episodes, has been facilitated by the advent and popularization of streaming services, enabling on-demand television content consumption. Given its status as an emerging phenomenon, there is substantial scholarly effort aimed at comprehensively understanding BW, encompassing its formal definition and potential associations with impulsivity, emotional regulation difficulties, mental health issues, and even addiction. Furthermore, research seeks to elucidate the emotional, sociocultural, and media-related factors driving this behavior. This study aims to provide a general overview of BW by synthesizing critical findings from the literature regarding its conceptualization, risk factors, and psychological characteristics.

摘要
