The Republican voter under Donald Trump much like the Republican Party under Donald Trump has seen a shift in priorities. The Republican voter in the pre-Trump era was focused on religious priorities and fiscal conservatism. Though these factors are not absent in the Trump Republican voter’s profile, they do take a back seat to issues such as immigration and terrorism. This chapter aims to show the shifting priorities of the Trump Republican voter and outline why they are the antithesis of the African American voter’s expected priorities.
