This chapter brings together the elements of Remploy examined throughout the book to illustrate how this provision functioned across the period. Similarly, it draws together what sheltered employment tells us about the British welfare state. In so doing, it demonstrates the importance of Remploy for our understanding of the history of disability in Britain.
