The Economic Origins of Sustainability Challenges
摘要
Ronald Coase introduced the Coase Theorem in his paper “The Problem of Social Cost” (Coase in J Law Econ 1–44, 1960), a cornerstone in understanding the economic origins of sustainability challenges. The theorem was a response to conventional economic perspectives on externalities. These views typically advocated for government intervention, like taxation or regulation, to tackle problems such as pollution, noise, and other adverse effects of economic activities.
