The rotor of a wind turbine comprises - from the point of view of structural design several subsystems. Based on the definition that the rotor is understood to be all rotating parts of the turbine outside the nacelle, these are the rotor blades, the hub and the blade pitch mechanism. These three subsystems are largely independent components in terms of their structural design, function and manufacturing technology.
