Discussing the characteristics of energy sources without simultaneously considering the impact they have on the environment is no longer possible these days. Wind turbines do not pollute the atmosphere with carbon dioxide, sulphur, hydrocarbons or nitrogen oxides, nor do they pose the problems of dealing with radioactive waste for this and future generations. In view of these facts, the use of wind energy unquestionably deserves the title “climate and environmentally friendly”. Nevertheless, the operation of wind turbines is not without its effects on the environment.
