The control system and operational sequence control of a wind turbine must primarily ensure the fully automatic operation of the turbine. Any other procedure that requires any manual operations during normal operation would be completely unacceptable from an economic point of view. Economic efficiency also requires the control system to achieve the highest possible efficiency in every operating condition. This point of view is by no means self-evident, but requires an “intelligent” control system. The control system should also contribute to keeping the mechanical loads on the wind turbine as low as possible.
