This research investigates the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies with autonomous vehicles (AVs) to address critical communication challenges faced by first responders in public safety operations. The study identifies key operational requirements such as enhanced situational awareness, precise location tracking, and rapid, reliable wireless data exchange. With the use of wireless communication protocols like 5G, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) networks, and real-time sensor integration, this research demonstrates the potentials of IoT-enabled AVs in improving efficiency in communication, shortening response times, and improving decision accuracy in emergencies. The findings indicate that strategic combination of IoT and advanced wireless communications with AVs could improve information flow, reduce the cognitive overload created by a huge data inflow, and assure real-time geolocation even under dynamic and high-pressure environments. The research, therefore, paves the way for an understanding of the practical applications of IoT-enabled AVs in public safety, hence serving as a foundation to show how the robust wireless communication network can further support the development and deployment of these technologies in real-world emergency response scenarios.

摘要
