摘要
The present investigation intends to determine the levels of dependence on video games and reading comprehension in students of the fifth cycle of primary school at two educational institutions in urban areas in Lima Norte, explore them, and find out the relationship between both variables. The sample comprises 332 students, 171 women (51.5%) and 161 men (48.5%). On the other hand, it should be noted that the focus of our study is quantitative, exploratory, and descriptive since it seeks to explore the characteristics of the school population based on the levels of the variables mentioned above. In addition, it has a correlational scope and a non-experimental design. The results indicate that 65% of the student population exhibits low levels of video game dependency, that 53.9% show satisfactory levels of reading comprehension, and that the dimensions of Video Game Withdrawal, Abuse and Tolerance to Video Games, and Problems caused by Video Games have positive and significant correlations with each other.
