Industry 4.0 has generated new professional demands, and its techniques have provided significant advantages across various levels. Consequently, several of its technologies have been introduced in different fields. Higher technical education faces the challenge of implementing these techniques to enhance outcomes. The objective of this study was to propose, through a case study, the introduction of Industry 4.0 enabling technologies in the Industrial Design Engineering program at UCE (Universidad Central del Ecuador) to improve teaching and learning results. The study methodology involved two phases: a strategic phase that defined the strategy and technological maturity and a development phase that generated ideas evaluated them, and produced the proposal. The conclusion highlights successful proposals for Industry 4.0 techniques in Cloud Technology, Simulation and Modeling, Additive Manufacturing, and Visualization Technologies.
