Internet of Robotic Things in Smart Domains: Applications and Challenges
摘要
Incorporating the Internet of Robotic Things (IoRT) into different smart domains has enabled robotic systems to be intelligent and connected, enabling advancements in automation and smart environments as well. IoRT identifies robots and the Internet of Things (IoT) as key components for improving human–robot interaction (HRI) and machine-to-machine interaction (M2M). This facilitates smart cities, healthcare, agriculture, and security applications. With IoRT systems, data can be processed in real-time and autonomous decisions can be made in a variety of environments through the use of cloud-based resources. In this paper, we discuss networking connectivity, robotic autonomy, cyber security, and interoperability of systems as key components of IoRT. IoRT architectures and frameworks are described to demonstrate their potential to revolutionize industry and society through the development of secure, efficient, and responsive systems.
