Considering that this book presents a study aimed at analysing and comparing the discourses, identities, and meanings of political participation of young people in radical right movements in Brazil and Germany, this chapter discusses the methodological issues relevant to the research. It seeks to clarify the challenges and changes in course, as well as to discuss, in a more in-depth manner, the chosen methodological instruments and their connection with the theoretical orientations of this study. Firstly, the choice and implications of using biographical interviews or life narratives are discussed. Secondly, the paths and ethical procedures adopted are presented in more detail. Finally, this chapter seeks to present and contextualize the methods and stages of biographical reconstruction and thematic analysis of narratives.
