Human cognitive abilities play a crucial role in our daily activities, including road traffic participation. Seasonal changes can influence cognitive abilities, impacting cyclists’ perception, reaction times, and decision-making, potentially contributing to accidents. This study investigates the relationship between the spatial clustering of cycling accidents and seasons. By classifying data into spring, summer, autumn, and winter, we aim to explore whether there are differences in accident frequencies across the various seasons. We generate vector Kernel Density Estimation (KDE) heat maps to identify accident black spots and compare them across seasons. The results reveal a consistently significant difference in accident black spots between all pairs of seasons. The summer season, known for increased tourism and cycling, presents a higher accident risk due to the greater number of bicyclists and heightened traffic flow. Considering the role of cognitive mobility, it is essential to promote awareness campaigns and educational initiatives to enhance attention and alertness during the summer traffic season. By addressing seasonal variations and emphasizing cognitive mobility, targeted safety measures can be implemented to reduce bicycle-related accidents and ensure safer road conditions throughout the year.

摘要
