Many artificial intelligence (AI) tools have been developed in recent years, becoming readily accessible to the citizenship. These rapidly gained widespread use, bringing potential opportunities and unexplored risks. The education field is particularly impacted, with students increasingly incorporating AI technologies into their academic pursuits. While AI tools may improve efficiency and offer new exploration methods, challenges arise such as concerns about data privacy, ethical decision-making, and the need for continuous adaptation to technological advancements. Deepening into this study field is crucial since education and psychology students will be key professionals in the future citizenship. This chapter presents recent findings regarding the prevalence of use of AI tools among education and psychology university students, identifying the most frequent purposes for using AI applications. Preliminary results indicate a substantial use of AI tools by students. Implications for policy and practice will be discussed, and future research lines will be suggested.
