Therapists, psychologists, and other mental health experts can play a pivotal role in leveraging the popularity of social media platforms to share their expertise on intimate partner violence (IPV) in a way that fundamentally enhances the overall understanding of this complex phenomenon. Experienced mental health clinicians who work with all parties affected by IPV have unique insights into the roots of the violence, the psychology of both victims and offenders, and the efficacies of treatments for both victims and offenders. Social media appearances and presentations by clinicians can be controversial, given the stringent code of ethics within the profession, but this chapter poses that tightly focused social media communication strategies from these mental health authorities can simultaneously educate the public while conforming to ethical obligations.
