Ireland: Top Class Falling
摘要
This chapter focusses on the Irish bail-out, subsequent to the Greek one and in many respects the polar opposite. It discusses the nature of Ireland’s banking crisis in the context of fiscal solidity and the original Irish attempt at ‘hair-cutting’ private investors. It also describes the watershed moment of the ‘Deauville compromise’ between France and Germany on perpetuating the bail-out architecture and embarking on debt restructuring.
