In order to keep up with the rapidly changing landscape of cyber threats, organizations require a thorough, dynamic cybersecurity posture. Paper discusses the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and focuses on Risk Assessment and Improvement chapters to bolster a companywide-course. Working hand in glove with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, organizations can greatly enhance the level of their cyberdefense through thorough identification and management of vulnerabilities, threats as well as risk. We explore effective strategies for continuous assessment and improvement, emphasizing the importance of regular security tests, collaboration with third parties, and sharing lessons learned. By putting cybersecurity planning front and center stage, this paper hopes to offer valuable insights and practical help for companies in improving their protection against cyberattacks. Four of the key risk assessment tasks such as vulnerability identification, integrating threat intelligence, prioritizing risks as well as managing the response to risks are discussed in detail. In addition, improvement tasks such as continuing assessment, security tests and process streamlining are detailed to help illustrate their role in creating a robust security environment.
