Vitreous hemorrhage (VH) is one of the leading causes of vision loss in the diabetic population and is among the top indications for vitrectomy. Although the most common cause of VH in diabetic cases is retinal neovascularization due to severe ischemia, all patients with VH should be questioned in detail about any history of trauma, previous eye surgery, diabetes, hypertension, carotid artery disease, high myopia, and known hematological diseases.
