Most standard procedures and metrics for manipulating time series were reviewed in [1] and are summarized in the present section. Denoting by D the time series similarity measure, its calculation can be grouped in three main categories depending on the way it performs: (i) operating directly with the original time series data; (ii) operating on some transformation performed on the original time series; and (iii) operating indirectly from metrics derived from the original data.
